So what exactly is Nurse Delegation, and what's so special about it?
Some home care agencies are limited in the type of personal care services they can provide because non-medical home care licensing does not allow for skilled nursing. Nurse Delegation is the exception to this rule. By contracting with Registered Nurses, we are able to have certain care tasks delegated to our staff that would otherwise be left in the hands of an RN, which can be very costly. Nurse delegated responsibilities include, but are not limited to, wound care, catheter care, diabetes management and medication assistance.
How can I pay for Home Care?
Most of our payments come from Private Pay or Long Term Care insurance. However, there are more options available. If you would like to learn more about ways to pay, please click here. We accept most forms of payment including check, credit card, Worker's Comp, L&I, Veterans Benefits and Long Term Care insurance policies. Discount pricing available for clients receiving full-time care with advanced payment.
Why should I choose an agency rather than a caregiver advertised in the classifieds?
All of our caregivers are carefully screened before they ever enter your home. And by evaluating your needs during our free assessment, we are able to match you with a caregiver that you can feel comfortable with. This isn't always the case with an independent caregiver you may find in the paper. Often you may not know their background, or whether they have proper training and insurance. And what happens if they can't make it to a shift? That usually means you do without care until they can come back. With A Better Solution, we have a team of caregivers, so if your provider calls in sick we can give you someone else!
How many hours of care can you provide?
We are experts at providing anything from 1 to 24 hours of care. So whether you need just a little help for a couple hours each week, or 'round the clock care seven days a week, we can provide you excellent service. The service is more affordable at 3+ hours and therefore it is recommended and we suggest you utilize the extra time for housekeeping or other chores.
Can I meet our caregiver in advance?
Absolutely! We carefully match clients to caregivers according to personality and skill, but we know you need to like them too. Ideally a caregiver supervisor accompanies the new caregiver to make introductions and provide any relevant training before service starts. If for some reason this can not happen due to things such as emergent services needed, we may not be able to come early and instead introductions will be day of. If for any reason and at any time you are not happy with the caregiver we will gladly make changes. If you are not happy, we are not happy.
