A Better Solution was founded in 2005 on Camano Island to address the need for reliable in-home care. In 2011, Shawn and Christina Beach took over the company, drawn to its alignment with their personal values, passion, and desire to serve those in need. With Shawn’s background in business and Christina’s experience as an Occupational Therapist, they formed an ideal team to continue the company’s mission.
The couple’s connection to caregiving is deeply personal. Christina’s mother, who had advanced Multiple Sclerosis, relied on caregivers for nearly every aspect of her daily life. This firsthand experience fuels their commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care, as they truly understand the emotional and practical challenges of having care needs.
Shawn and Christina both believe that care is better when it's delivered by people who truly "care". They understand how essential it is to have caregivers who are not only skilled, but also passionate about their work. Their dedication to excellence drives them to do their best to ensure that each client receives the compassionate and reliable care they deserve.
A Better Solution provides Person-Centered Care, where clients direct the care they desire. We build a custom care plan and team based on their needs and desires. We believe choices are important, and our clients are happiest when they can be involved in their care. We offer a wide array of services, including personal care, companionship & respite relief, nurse-delegated care, homemaking & housekeeping, and hospice support.
The goal of A Better Solution is to help clients maintain their health and independence in the warmth and familiarity of their own home, regardless of their circumstances. This may also include providing care and advocacy at a formal facility during transitions, recovery periods, or end-of-life care. There is no place like HOME!
