All care staff at a better solution have to meet several criteria 

Qualities
Caregivers need to have a caring and compassionate heart to even be considered as a candidate.  We chose caregivers who love serving and have servants hearts.  Trustworthiness and reliability are also a must as well as flexibility and a teachable spirit.

Qualifications
Each caregiver employed by us is at least a CNA (certified nursing assistant) or NAR (Nursing Assistant registered) which means they have taken at minimum a 75 hour course on the Fundamentals of Caregiving. All of our direct care staff are required to become RN Delegated as well, allowing them to provide an even higher level of care to our clients.  Many of the employees have additional training in specialized areas, such as dementia care. 

Our Screening process Includes
  • Phone Interview
We get to know the caregiver first by a phone interview.  If the applicant has the qualifications and the qualities we are seeking we then review their application further.
  • Application Review
 Each prospective caregiver’s work history is reviewed to ensure they meet our standards, including prior care experience and documented completion of state-required training certifications.
  • Interview
Caregivers go through an extensive interview process to determine if they are a good fit for the agency and clients we serve. 
  • Thorough background checks/screening is completed including:
-Criminal background check including Washington State patrol background & FBI national finger print check
-Washington State Department of Health credential verification
-Department of Motor Vehicles records check
-Proof of automobile insurance
-3 professional industry specific references
-3 personal references
We require references to be with high satisfaction ratings

Upon hire, each caregiver participates in training and orientation provided by A Better Solution and participates in a skill review to assure training is adequate for our clientele. Routine reviews are conducted in client homes to assure client satisfaction and make any needed improvements.
